Missions We Support
Guiding Light Mission
Through the guiding light of God’s Spirit, Guiding Light partners with individuals to fulfill their God-given potential through rescue, recovery and re-engagement in the community.
Jenny is working in various provinces throughout Papua New Guinea, assisting translators with workshops and activities that promote the use and understanding of Scripture as it is translated into the local languages. Her ministry in PNG includes many different activities and changes according to the needs of a language community. A few of the areas where she works are: promoting story-telling, Sunday school workshops, Culture Meets Scripture workshops, Scripture engagement workshops, and song-writing workshops.
Friends of Kibbuse
The purpose of this ministry is to advance the Kingdom of Christ by seeking and managing financial aid to the Kibbuse foundation which in turn supports the Good Samaritan Clinic and the Kibbuse Vocational Training Centre. The Good Samaritan Clinic provides primary health care to a remote area in Uganda where seven villages and somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 people have no medical services within walking distance. The Kibbuse Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) is a Christian vocational school located in a severely impoverished rural area of western Uganda where many young people desperately need to learn how to be “job-makers instead of job-seekers.
We unite with other Christian Reformed Churches to reach out with the gospel, and to plant and grow churches in the United States, Canada, and throughout the world through the leadership and training of Resonate Global Mission. Together we are engaged in disaster response and in poverty and world hunger relief through World Renew. We also train and place chaplains in the military, on campuses, and in hospitals through Chaplaincy and Care Ministries.
Ministries We Participate In
The Hanley Prison Ministry
Since February 2004, Hanley has carried out a ministry to inmates in several prisons in California and to some of their family members and friends.
About ten times each year, we send out a copy of a sermon in English and Spanish to each inmate on our mailing list. Some inmates share these messages with other inmates during Bible studies that they’ve organized for themselves. Hanley also sends these sermons to chaplains and counselors who make copies available to inmates in their institutions. In this way, thousands of copies of each sermon are distributed. We have also responded to requests from inmates and chaplains for Bibles, Christian music CD’s, and Christian books.
Jehovah Jireh Ministries
The mission of Jehovah Jireh Ministries is to bring glory to God by using His provision to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our community, as well as enable others to reach out to those in need around them. They provide free food and clothing as well as Christian love and encouragement, to approximately 200 families each week. Hanley participates in the ministry by making donations of food, money, and volunteering as needed.
Feed my Starving Children
Feed My Starving Children is a Christian nonprofit organization that provides nutritious meals to children worldwide. A mobile pack site is sponsored by many of the Hudsonville area churches each fall. Hanley members raise money each year to purchase the ingredients for meals and then go to help pack the meals that will be sent to children in need.
Love In the Name of Christ
Love INC works to support Christians in bringing God’s love and care into our communities by helping churches to meet the needs of individuals and families, such as food, clothing, transportation, household goods, counseling, etc. Hanley members volunteer at Love Inc. and also donate money and products needed for Love’s ministries.
